Thanks for scanning on a QR code or clicking on a link powered by Tapkit. We know you value your privacy, so we want to take a few moments to explain what information we collect from you and how we use it.

Tapkit is an online tool that enables brands to build dynamic QR codes and mobile friendly websites (we call these “Microsites” or “Landing Pages”). These maybe used on packaging, social media links or the destination of mobile ads. The brands may use the Landing Page to collect email information, ask you for feedback, register for an offer or campaign or signup to a product that may not have launched yet. The data collected will be shared with the brands and businesses using Tapkit as QR code and microsite tool.

Since you might be reading this on a mobile device, we'll keep it brief and give you just a quick summary here. If you want more information, click "Tell me more" under each section.

• Who are we? We're Tapkit ("we", "our" or "us") and we're the controller of the personal information collected through Landing Pages. 

The controller of your information is FF Faraday Limited, except where you've consented to us sharing your personal information so that the brand whose products or services are being advertised within the Ad can send you your gift, offer or prize [and other information about their products and services]. In that case, the controller will be that third party brand.

• What information do we collect? We collect information that directly identifies you (such as your email address) when you enter that information into a Landing Page and consent via the email capture widget. We also collect information relating to your interactions with our QR codes and Landing Pages ("Usage Information"). You may not be able to access the destination of the QR code or the Landing Pages if you disable the collection of this kind of information.

Personal information you type into a form on a Landing Page

When you arrive at a Landing Page, we may ask for an email address (via the email capture widget) and whether you're happy for us to share those details with the brand whose products or services were advertised within the Ad that directed you there.

We'll only ever collect your email address from you when you tell us that you're happy with that sharing. 

Please bear in mind that you won't be able to get access to the gift, offer or prize that you may have been advertised unless you're happy to share your contact details with the brand.

We ask for this information so that we can pass it to the relevant brand so that they can send you your gift, offer or prize [and other information about their products and services]. We won't share this information with any other brand.

The legal ground for processing your personal information for this purpose is your consent to that processing.

You may withdraw your consent at any time by emailing support@tapkit.com anytime.

Personal information that is processed when you communicate with us

If you email us at hello@tapkit.com then we may collect personal information, such as your name, phone number, email address and contact preferences so that we can resolve any issues you’re having. We use this information to provide you with support. The legal ground for processing this information for these purposes is our legitimate interests in providing quality support.

Usage Information

We collect information from you about your interactions with our QR codes and Landing Pages. The types of analytical information we collect include user behavior (e.g., features used, frequency of use), session length, device state information, device model, hardware and operating system (like iOS or Android), and information relating to how our QR codes and Landing Pages function.  We use this information to improve the quality and functionality of our QR codes and Landing Pages; to develop and features that best serve you and others; to maintain the security and integrity of our QR codes and Landing Pages and to help identify and fix stability issues and any other usability problems as quickly as possible.

We use aggregated Usage Information (which does not identify individual users) for our own legitimate business interests – to:

1. analyse usage trends,
2. administer our QR codes and Landing Pages,
3. debug our QR codes and Landing Pages in case of problems;
4. protect the security or integrity of our QR codes and Landing Pages; and
5. gather demographic information about our user base as a whole (e.g., number of users in a particular country or region), so that we can improve our QR codes and Landing Pages.

We will also share aggregated versions of this information with the brands that use Tapkit.

We use Google Firebase to provide analytics and similar services and to track statistics and user demographics, understand usage of our QR codes and Landing Pages, and identify and resolve the root causes of any crashes. Find out more information about Google Firebase.

• Who do we share personal information with? With your consent, we’ll share your email address with the brand whose products or services were advertised within the QR code that directed you to the Landing Page. We’ll also share your personal information with our third party service providers for the sole purpose of them providing their services to us. We’ve put in place appropriate safeguards to ensure that your personal information will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Notice.

Where you've consented to us doing so, we'll share your email address  with the brand whose products or services were advertised within the Ad that directed you to the Landing Page. We ask for this information so that we can pass it to the relevant brand so that they can send you your gift, offer or prize [and other information about their products and services]. We won't share this information with any other brand.

We'll share your personal information with third-party vendors, consultants and other service providers or partners who are working on our behalf on the QR Codes or Landing Pages and need access to your information to carry out their work for us. These entities (including those mentioned above) have agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the personal information they obtain from us, and not to use your personal information for any purpose other than as described in this Privacy Notice or as required or permitted by applicable law.

We may also share your information with other organisations when we believe doing so is necessary or appropriate:

1. to comply with applicable law or regulation or legal process or to respond to lawful requests of competent legal authorities;
2. to exercise, establish, defend or protect our rights or property and our employees, agents, users and other third-parties, including to enforce our agreements and policies and protect against fraudulent, abusive, inappropriate, or unlawful use of the QR Codes or Landing Pages;
3. to protect your vital interests or those of any other person or to protect the safety of Tapkit, our users or any third-party; and
4. in connection with, or during negotiations of, any actual or proposed merger, sale of company assets, bankruptcy or reorganisation, financing or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company, provided that we inform the buyer it must use any of your personal information only for the purposes disclosed in this Privacy Notice.

• How long do we keep your personal information? We keep the personal information we collect from you as long as we have an ongoing legitimate business need to do so. 

If we do have any of your personal information, we’ll keep it for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice and in accordance with our retention policies, as applicable, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable laws and/or regulations.

• What are my rights? You can ask us to access, update and erase any personal information we hold about you. In addition, you can object to the processing of your personal information, ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information or request portability of your personal information.

If we have collected and processed your personal information with your consent, you can withdraw your consent at any time.
